Prinsip pengendalian PHM menjadi tugas • Pemerintah Pusat : • Fokus pada penyakit yang bersifat wabah dan menyebar lintas Propinsi, Regional dan Nasional • Berdampak ekonomis • Ancaman bagi kesehatan dan kehidupan manusia (zoonosis) Prioritas pengendalian pemberantasan ditetapkan 11 PHM melalui SK. Dirjen Nak No. 103 tahun 1998, saat ini menjadi 13 jenis PHM Penyakit wajib dilaporkan ke Pusat setiap bulan PTS-RST-PKH-2014

PMK; 2. Nipah; 3. JE; 4. BSE PHM Epidemik Avian Influenza PHM Prioritas Daerah 1. ND 2. Anthrax 3. SE PTS-RST-PKH-2014

Penyakit yang endemis dan sporadis lintas kabupaten/kota menjadi tugas Pemerintah Propinsi Penyakit produksi dan yang sifatnya individual diarahkan pada upaya peningkatan kemandirian peternak (swadaya) Penyakit yang endemis dan sporadis lokal di kabupaten/kota menjadi tugas Pemerintah Kabupaten/Kota Prioritas pemberantasan di tingkat nasional ditujukan untuk ternak besar dan wabah Avian Influenza pada unggas PTS-RST-PKH-2014
