  10. 9s With the 9s we use our fingers to make an imaginary place value chart on our tables. Tens on one side and ones on the other side. Whatever factor we are multiplying by that finger goes down to divide the chart, tens from ones. 9 X 1 = 9. We are looking at our first finger down on our left hand so there are no tens and 9 ones. Then we say 9 X 2 = 18 and our second finger goes down to make the dividing line between 10's and 1's places. We then see 1 ten and 8 ones, so it is 18. And so on.
