  1. Technology Leader Profile Heather Ice INT 430 11/27/01

  2. Contact Information • http://www.newssource49.com/ • Name: David Steinlage • Telephone: (785) 273-4949 • Mail Address: • Email Address: 49webmaster@cjnetworks.com

  3. Information about Position • Current Position: Studio Productions/Webmaster • Qualifications (academic and past job experience): "Worked my way up within the building from virtually zero experience"

  4. What services does 49 provide? • "News broadcasts, commercial/promo development"

  5. What role do you play at 49? • "Running Camera during the news casts and updating the website"

  6. How would you describe your management style? • "Management is fine. The building is split into separate departments, such as Productions, Promotions, News, Sales, etc. Most people maintain in their own dept. I, on the other hand, sort of jump around from one to the other (because of the variety of things that I do)."

  7. How do you believe that vision is created in an organization or business? • "Establishing a wide mindset for a common goal...and if that doesn't work just tell 'em to stick with it. The work environment at 49 is pretty fun and comfortable. Most close minded people (like I used to be) would try to make it appear as if management only cared about how you made them look. I view the outcome of my tasks as a product of myself. I wouldn't want to make my self look bad, would I?"

  8. How do you believe that employee "buy-in" and loyalty is created in an organization or business? • "I would tend to think that "information organization with ever expanding market and technology" were all that ever existed...unless you think something like McDonalds was in the ballpark at-bat. What did they do? Put LCD screens in their drive through’s and accept credit cards. The answer to that question is simple: The challenge in this game is that you have to advance forward faster then the competitor. That's all. Anything else can be classed as "petty" in comparison."

  10. Will you allow this profile to be used in an FHSU web page or study profiling information leaders? • "Sure."
