  2. Baptize is the English form of the Greek word, baptizo, which means to immerse so as to place something into something elsefor the purpose of changing the item being baptized.

  3. In BELIEVER’S BAPTISM the Believer is put completely under water, then immediately raised up out of the water.

  4. WHAT IS BELIEVER’S BAPTISM? • BAPTISM is a is a living sermon and a telling of the salvation story for the benefit of unsaved family and friends.

  5. WHAT IS BELIEVER’S BAPTISM? • BAPTISM is a public testimony to the faith that one has placed in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ—His death, His burial, and His resurrection.

  6. WHAT IS BELIEVER’S BAPTISM? • In BAPTISM we testify that OUR OLD life is buried with Jesus, and we are now raised with Jesus to live a NEW LIFE in Him.

  7. BAPTISM is a point of separation, dividing the OLD UNSAVED LIFE in Adam from the NEW SAVED LIFE in Christ.

  8. In BAPTISM we are in effect saying goodbye to our OLD SELFand saying hello to the NEW PERSON we are becomingin Christ Jesus.

  9. BAPTISM is a symbolic burning of the bridge to the OLD LIFE of sin and shame and moving forward in the power of the NEW LIFE we have in Christ.

  13. Should You be Baptized? Yes, if you UNDERSTAND what you are doing and BELIEVE what baptism signifies…

  14. You can be Baptized if… You Believe: He died for your sins. He was buried. He rose again on the third. He will raise you from the grave one day to live with Him forever.

  15. You can be Baptized if… You Desire: to follow Jesus in the power of your NEW LIFE in Christ by HIS GRACE and for HIS GLORY.

  16. You can be Baptized if… You Aspire: to live according to HIS WORD, HIS WILL, and HIS WAYSwith those who are likewise committed to FOLLOWING JESUS.

  17. BELIEVER’S BAPTISM DOES NOT MAKE YOU A CHRISTIAN • BAPTISM is a symbolic act with no power to save you. It is not required for salvation.

  18. BAPTISM has no saving merit. You do not have to be baptized to be saved.

  19. You are not saved by WATER BAPTISM. Only Christ can save….

  20. The BELIEVER goes down into the water all dry and comes up all wet, visibly altered in appearance.

  21. O God, I come before Thee now And on Thine altar lay Myself, a living sacrifice, To serve Thee day by day.

  22. Take all I am or hope to be And make it Thine today; A living sacrifice I bring; Accept it, Lord, I pray.

  23. I bring a living sacrifice; Myself, I offer Thee, Made holy by the blood of Christ, Who died on Calvary.

  24. My body, soul and spirit, Lord, I yield them all to Thee That I might live in such a way That men see Christ in me.

  25. I pledge Thee full allegiance, Lord, To live for Thee alone; Oh take this living sacrifice, And use it as Thine own.

  26. No longer self upon the throne, Let Christ be seen in me; Work out Thy perfect will, O Lord, Whatever it may be.

  27. A living sacrifice, I offer now to Thee. Oh take and use it, Lord, Until Thy face I see;

  28. And then before Thy throne My song shall ever be A sacrifice of praise to Thee.
