Reasons for Technology Integration • Technology helps make teaching and learning more meaningful and fun. • Technology is an enormous part of contemporary life and should be incorporated as part of education. • Student interest is huge – kids like the newest things. Grab their attention by teaching them with the newest equipment and technology pieces in your classroom. • Technology meets the needs of 21st Century students.

  3. More reasons for Integration • Technology allows for great collaboration, critical thinking, and global awareness. • Technology allows for flexibility. With the growing number of different learning styles our students have, we need to allow them to use which ever method works best for them. • Technology is about creating instructional environments that can facilitate active engagement, facilitate collaborative problem solving, and provide students with authentic learning environments.

This can be included into literacy and math workstations, used as an assessment, used for struggling students as well as gifted students. • What are the benefits of using iPad Apps? • Allows students to take control of their learning, educational programs can be tailor made for each student, aids cognitive learning as well as creativeness in students. • Children are eager to embrace new technology and is able to be quickly switched between applications.

Microsoft Word also offers legibility for students with poor handwriting by providing a readable copy that is easy to grade.
