Education for all Bill Justine Greening announcement on 27 October - no legislation this parliament - no introduction of legislation to force schools in underperforming areas to convert.

Information from Sir David Carter (National Schools Commissioner) In a Speech to the NCOGS conference on Thursday (3 November) From 8 November schools classed as Good are able to apply to become Teaching Schools Effective MATS, which provide a good education for children, have Trust Boards which hold the Chief Executive Officer to Account – letter from Lord Nash to academies also stressed this Welcomed the fact that schools no longer need to rush to academise with some schools joining a MAT as it provided a ‘safe haven’. Governors should carefully consider what is the right thing to do for their school in the medium and long term and they now have the time and space to do that.
