What is Selenium? • Platform and environment for automating browser testing • seleniumhq.org: “Selenium automates browsers.” • Open source • Established 2004 • Major contributors from ThoughtWorks, Google, & Mozilla • Today • Has become the de-facto platform for performing web-testing • Almost all QA teams involved in web testing are either already using Selenium or looking to use Selenium Selenium Integration

New Selenium Session TypeOverview • New Selenium Session Type • Launches the Selenium IDE • Captures steps in iTest • Add Analysis Rules in iTest • Replay from iTest • Backward compatible • All existing Web Session Type test cases will execute using the Selenium Session Type Selenium Integration

  9. iTest - STC Integration • Today: Three integrations between iTest & STC • CLI – command line interface (~30 commands) • “STC-GUI” (~50 commands) • NTAF (~400 commands) = STC sequence-able commands • Challenges • Multiple integrations need to be maintained • Users don’t clearly know when to use which integration Module Enhancements

Improved iTest-STC Integration“Magellan” • What is “Magellan”? • Consolidate entire command set in one integration • Phase I (available in iTest v4.3) • Integration to use: “STC-GUI” • Now simply called “Spirent TestCenter” • Combined commands from all 3 integrations • Adds “intelligent console”, e.g. stateful, help function, etc. • Other features: • Multi-chassis support • STCv support • Improved results support – aligned with what STC GUI shows • Phases II & III (coming in later releases) Module Enhancements
