  1. “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.” I Corinthians 11:28

  2. What follows Self-examination? Self-correction!

  3. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22

  4. What is Self-examination without Self-correction? Self-deception!

  5. “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:” James 1:23

  6. “For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” James 1:24

  7. What happens when we have Self-examination without Self-correction resulting in Self-deception?

  10. In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, Luke 12:1

  11. he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Luke 12:1

  12. Leaven Produces an altering or transforming influence

  13. Hypocrisy Pretending, acting, playing a part

  14. For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Luke 12:2

  15. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. Luke 12:3

  16. And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. Luke 12:4

  17. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Luke 12:5

  18. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? Luke 12:6

  19. But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:7
