  4. Audi • In 1909 Audi Automobilwerke was established in Zwickau, Germany • In 1910 got a new company name Audiwerke GmbH • In 1932 the four german automakers came together to create the Auto Union AG • In 1969 Audi enters the U.S. market

  5. Audi cont.. • Owned by Volkswagon • Audi has 10 different car models. • Sedans, Wagons, SUVs and Sports Cars • Diesel and gasoline engines • Participate in all types of auto racing

  6. Volkswagon • Headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany • In 1937 the "Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH" company is founded • In 1938 it was renamed "Volkswagenwerk GmbH". • In 1955 Volkswagon enters the U.S. auto market

Volkswagon cont.. • One of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers and the largest carmaker in Europe. • The Volkswagen Group sells its vehicles in more than 153 countries. • The Volkswagon Group is made up of nine brands from seven European countries: Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, SEAT, Škoda, Scania and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

  11. Porsche • Dr. Ing h.c. F. Porsche AG was founded by Ferdinand Porsche • Headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany • In 1948 first car with Porsche name was made • Ferdinand Porsche was a engineer that worked for many car manufacturers • In 1950 Porsche was introduced to U.S

  12. Porsche cont.. • Porsche is the the smallest German car manufacturer and also the most profitable • There is a Porsche Museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany • There are 5 different car models • Sedans, Sports Cars and SUVs

Mercedes Benz • Founded in 1886 by Karl Benz, Emil Jellinek, Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach • In 1901 the first Mercedes Benz was built • In 1926 Daimler and Benz merged to form Daimler-Benz AG, and Mercedes-Benz was born. • Daimler Corporate headquarters is located in Stuttgart, Germany • In 1952 Mercedes Benz came to US

  15. Mercedes Benz AMG • High performance division of Mercedes Benz • In 1967 Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher founded AMG • Focus on high horsepower and great handling.

  16. BMW • Founded in 1917 Bayerische Flugzeug-Werke (BFW) • In 1918 became BMW AG • At the beginning they did not focus on building cars the did airplanes • In 1945 the BMW Munich plant was ordered, by US government, to be dismantled • In 1975 BMW USA was established
