  2. What are contraceptives • It’s a device that prevents pregnancy, it can be a drug, agents, sexual practice, or chirurgical impregnation.

  3. Traditional birth control • Celibacy = aboing sex • Withdrawal= men gets out the pines before the ejaculation.

  4. preventions • Spermicides: may be placed in the vigina before intercourse and it creates a chemical barrier in the cervix. • Contraceptive sponge: its more a stop wall to block the sperm in the cervix and don’t let them pass. • Emergency contraceptives: it’s a pill or a drug that prevent fertilization or ovulation after having intercourse

  5. Condoms (male and female) • Condoms are a form of barrier contraception. They prevent pregnancy by stopping sperm from reaching and fertilising an egg.

  9. Progestogen-only contraceptive pill • The progestogen-only pill doesn't contain any oestrogen. It is an option for women who can't use the combined contraceptive pill, such as those over 35 years old and those who smoke.

  11. Contraceptive patch • The contraceptive patch is a small, thin, beige patch that measures about 5cm by 5cm and is stuck onto the skin. It's a form of hormonal contraceptive that's worn by a woman to prevent her getting pregnant when she has sex. 

  12. Vaginal ring • The vaginal ring is a small, soft plastic ring that's placed inside the vagina on the first day of a woman’s period. It is removed after 21 days. Seven days later a new ring is used. A vaginal ring is about 4mm thick and 5.5cm in diameter.
