What is an emission inventory? • Measure and track sources of human-induced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions • Carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), high global warming potential (GWP) gases • Activity-based emissions by source (e.g., vehicles and equipment, landfilled waste) • Activity data X emission factor = emissions • Group sources into sectors (Energy, Transportation, Waste, Other)
