  1. Should marijuana be legalized? Tatiana Lizarralde

  2. CHARLIE SHEEN • Individuals deserve the right to decide whether or not they should use marijuana. The government should not tell individuals what to do as long as they do not harm others. Since there are more dangerous drugs out there like alcohol and tobacco (ad populum)

  3. GUSTAVO PETRO • If marijuana was legalized, we would waste less money in trying to capture the members of the "carteles" and putting in jail those who are fought consuming it. On the other hand, is marijuana was legal the government could tax it and this way get more money and at the same time, discourage consumers.

  4. PAPA JUAN PABLO II • If marijuana is legalized, many of the social problems, violence and wars that exist in countries like Mexico and Colombia will decrease because the "carteles" will no longer exist and this way their fights will be over.

  5. Lindsy lohan • It should be legalized since all High School students smoke marijuana anyways(hasty generalization)

  6. Ghandi • Some religions instruct their followers to use marijuana. These people deserve the freedom to practice their religion as they see fit. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says that the government cannot 'prohibit the free exercise' of religion, and so marijuana should be legal.

  7. Francisco santos • Use of marijuana and hemp has been around since at least the time of the ancient Chinese, so who are we to say it's wrong. (ad populum)

  8. ALVARO URIBE • If we legalize the drug, people will begin to use other ones (slippery slope)

  9. BARACK OBAMA • Marijuana is illegal at the moment, since everything that is illegal is illegal because it may harm society, then marijuana is harmful for society. So no, it should not be legalized. (equivocation)
