  3. Building a shared vision

  4. Key consultation themes

  5. Going forward – better support for claimants • ‘A disability or long-term health condition should not dictate the path a person is able to take in life – or the workplace’ [Ministerial foreword to Green Paper] • The Enhanced Support Offer (along with other elements of the Personal Support Package) will equip us to meet this vision by delivering 13 measures specifically aimed at helping people with disabilities and long-term health conditions to move toward and into work • The focus will be on: • new initiatives to support work coaches, claimants and employers; • additional provision through contracted programmes; and • proof of concept exercises to inform research on what works in moving claimants towards - and into – employment • Removing the ESA Work Related Activity Component and Universal Credit Limited Capability for Work element (from April 2017) means that for the first time claimants from those groups will be seen regularly by work coaches: The new, tailored and integrated packages of support provide an exciting opportunity for us to help these people – and others with health conditions - to improve their lives

  6. Personal Support Package New Initiatives • Community Partners • Small Employer Offer • Journey to Employment (J2E) • Mental Health Training for work coaches Changes to contracted provision • Work Choice • Work and Health Programme • Specialist Employability Support (SES) • Access to Work Proofs of Concept • Jobcentre Plus led Specialist Employability Support (SES) • Specialist Advice (ESA claimants affected by the Work Related Activity Component changes only) • Local Supported Employment • Young Persons Supported Work Experience • Work Related Activity Group (WRAG) intensive support
