  2. Context • RYSS - Services for young people 12 to 24. Programs include • centre based • outreach • casework • arts • Better Futures funding (NSW Government) • Worker capacity building • Negotiated inclusion of direct work with young people • This presentation about this aspect

Young people in this age group • Children 10 to 14 (inclusive) represent 6.7% of total Australian population. 6.9% boys and 6.4% girls. 4.6% of this total group are indigenous. • NSW is on average for the percentage of its population in this age group • Of the deaths for this age group the greatest number were from injuries, followed by cancer. • Boys were more than 50% more likely than girls to die, with their death from injuries almost double that of girls.
