  1. Are You a Mercantilist?Answer “yes” or “no” only • Money is the most important thing in life. • Your friend wants to buy your old bike. You try to sell it to him for more than it’s worth to get an extra profit. • You find a wallet on the sidewalk. You keep the money for yourself without looking for the owner. • Your little sister (or friend, cousin, etc.) wants to earn money. They offer to clean your room for $10.00. You bargain with them until they do it for $5.00 (your room is really messy.) • Mr. Crabbs from Spongebob Squarepants is your favorite cartoon character.

Mercantilism Vocabulary • Trade: the exchange of goods and services from one place to another • Trade is also referred to as commerce which means transaction • Imports: the trade good is brought into a country • Exports: trade goods sent to markets outside a country Because exports help a country earn money, Mercantilists thought that a country should export MORE than it imports!
