  2. What is an Acrostic Poem? An acrostic poem is a word that is going vertically down then a series of word starting with the letters in the vertical word. E.G. Teams Soccer Energy Poker Net Orienteering Nice Rugby Intense Tabletennis Summer Sailing

  3. Simile poems A simile poem is a poem that compares one object with an other object E.G. NO No is a red word As ancient as apples As blinding as blood As festy as fish guts As fierce as fires As peaceful as posters As red as ruby's No is as serious as school shirts It’s even as scrumptious as strawberries

  4. Shape poem hard shelled turtle, swimming, swimming elegantly through the sea.

  5. Cinquains Cinquain poem is a five lined poem that describes the subject that’s in the picture. E.G. Winter Cold, Icy Freezing, raining, snowing Skiing down the slopes Frosty

  6. Cinquains cont. Mango Juicy, orange dripping, slurping, licking Running down my chin Delicious

  7. Cinquains cont. Gum Nuts, sap Towering, swaying, bending In the upper canopy Essential

  8. Alliterative Analliterative poem is like an Acrostic poem but instead of having one word you have four word for each letter. E.G. Awesome, amazing, angry, active Nice, nervous, neat, natural Great, gentle, generous, giving Useful, ultimate, unit, united Super, stylish, strong, successful

  9. Haiku Haikus are short poems with three lines of five, seven, five syllables that originated from Japan. Summer Summer days are great Relaxing on sandy beach summers very hot

  10. Haiku cont. Autumn Golden leaves falling the cold is coming to town Beautiful colors

  11. Haiku cont. Winter Snow is falling down Ice cold but inside is warm Skiing is awesome

  12. Haiku cont. Spring Beautiful flowers A clash of vibrant color Spring is wonderful

  13. Limericks Limericks are rhyming poems with a pattern of AABBA. On the first line they have 8-10 on the second line they have8-10 syllables third and forth 5-6 and fifth 8-10. There once was a boy called Fred Who slept in a comfortable bed He rolled and he snored Till the leg was board Then he fell on his head
