  3. Benteng Pendem Cilacap (Belanda ; Kusbatterij op de Landtong te Cilacap). Benteng yang dibangun oleh Belanda antara tahun 1861-1879 M ini memilki luas asli 10.5 hektare. Namun ternyata sejumlah 4 hektare diambil oleh pertamina untuk pembangunan salah satu fasilitasnya didaerah tersebut. Benteng ini menurut cerita sempat terpendam tanah beberapa waktu lamanya, sebelum akhirnya ditemukan pada tahun 1986 dan mulai digali pada tahun 1987. Semenjak itu benteng ini dibuka untuk para pengunjung dan para peneliti yang ingin berkunjung ke benteng ini. Keberadaan Benteng Pendem sekarang merupakan aset wisata yang bisa di manfaatkan sebagai salah satu tujuan wisata di Cilacap, disamping itu juga dapat digunakan sebagai obyek penelitian. Untuk hal tersebut perlu kiranya keberadaan Benteng Pendem yang sudah termakan usia disamping kita manfaatkan, juga kita pelihara untuk kelestariannya.
