  4. Peter’s Speech • We all know that Jews and Gentiles don’t mix… • But God has shown me… • It’s all about Jesus who is Lord of all…

  5. Peter on the hot seat • “So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose God?” Acts 11:17.

  7. What Peter learned… • “If God brought Israel out of Egypt into the land of the inheritance, he had also brought the Philistines from Crete and the Syrians from Kir (Amos 9:7). On a coming day God would bless ‘Egypt my people’ and ‘Assyria the work of my hands’ along with ‘Israel my heritage’ (Isa. 19:25).”

  8. What Peter learned… • “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with a Gentile or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean” (Acts 10:28). • Do I believe this?

  10. What vision would Jesus give you? • A vision of your friend from work roasting hotdogs in his backyard… • A vision of your neighbor raking leaves on Sabbath afternoon… • A vision of your friends from school at a party… • A vision of the masses of Birmingham…

  11. What vision would Jesus give me? • If Jesus asked, would I be willing to eat the pig so that someone might be able to know Jesus?

  12. Is the vision from Jesus? • John 14:3, The Holy Spirit will guide into all truth. • Peter’s encounter was prepared ahead of time by Jesus. • The one thing that Peter was to give Cornelius was Jesus.
