  2. What criteria are used to select residents or what makes a competitive applicant? • Step 1 score 240-250. We have people in 230s • AOA is helpful • Research experience can be helpful

  3. To be a more competitive applicant? • Be authentic • Be a radiologist because it’s rewarding to you • Spend time in the department • In rotations • Doing research • Attending Grand Rounds • Etc • Submerse yourself in each rotation (including nonradiology) and work hard

  4. A day in the life of: • Resident • 7:30-5 ish daily • Call-Mostly shift work • Hours work per week- 50-60 • Doctor • Similar to Resident

  5. How many years of training are required? • How long is residency-5 years (including prelim) • Is a prelim year required-Yes • What fellowships / subspecialties can a resident go into-Many • Neuroradiology, Breast, Pediatric Rad, Nuclear Medicine, Body, Chest, Musculoskeletal, Interventional
