  3. Fascism in Italy • Who = Benito Mussolini • Why = Italy wanted a stronger leader that would take action • Why = Italy’s economy weak • Why = Used intimidation tactics (The Black Shirts)

  4. Fascism in Germany • Who = Adolf Hitler & The Nazi Party • Why = German economy weak • Why = Huge unemployment • Why = Nazi party came from Germany’s treatment after WWI (Treaty of Versailles)

  5. Fascism in Germany • Hitler had a private army = “Storm troopers / Brownshirts” • Promised to return German land lost in WWI • Promised to revive Germany’s Economy • Used rallies to inspire / awe
