  2. Clearwire contains the ability to connect people, who are unable to physically interact with one another when necessary. For instance, long-distance weddings. Can be used within a corporation for business meetings. Can also be used recreationally for family and friends to communicate. Within schools and colleges, Clearwire can be used to connect students and professors for online classes. This would improve the quality of an online class and give more people the opportunity to complete a degree. In the future, Clearwire may possibly be used to connect people without having to leave work or home to complete tasks at hand. School, work, shopping, everything could be done this way. Collaboratively this technology can really bring people together as a whole. Advantages of Clearwire

Present and Future Capabilities • Businesses have endless opportunities with Clearwire because they could complete interviews, deadlines, and construct meetings from anywhere. • Conveniently, it could bring people together for special occasions, such as the weddings mentioned earlier. • In the future, businesses could continue their work on-the-go. On lunch breaks and commute to and from work, they would have the ability to maintain their work ethic. Work could even be completed from home, if being at the work place was not possible.

  10. Advantages of Clearwire • Provides up-to-date info • Internet access • Portable • Goal: To build out networks in the top cities.

  11. Opportunities for Clearwire • WiMAX coverage to half the US pop. by 2010 • WiMAX- Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, is a telecommunications technology that provides wireless transmission of data using a variety of transmission modes, from point-to-multipoint links to portable and fully mobile internet access.

  12. Opportunities Cont. • Invest in Google, Intel • All dual-mode technology, that allows people to have the Clear network and the performance of a 4G network (in Portland) and then roam nationwide on Sprint's network

  13. Advantages of Clearwire For Problem Solving • Clearwire makes it easy for people to collaborate to solve problems. They provide internet access when people need to communicate with each other at the worst of times. • Clearwire also has great portability, which allows user to access and diagnose problems whenever they need to. Ex. Realtors power up their modem using simply a car lighter, and can show clients newly listed homes. • Teachers can collaborate with their students in order to solve problems. Ex. Classrooms on Wheels in Reno, where Clearwire is preschoolers only chance for an education. • Drivers can solve problems they are experiencing while driving, by accessing maps and directions while in their car.

  14. New Opportunities For Clearwire Capability • Considering that truck drivers are on the road all day and night, it would be beneficial for every truck to have one, to be aware of traffic conditions. Knowing what roads to avoid can prove to be costly when time equals money. • Doctors may also be able to use Clearwire to their advantages. Computer in rooms can help patients understand diagnoses, treatments, and risk factors among other things. • Cops can use Clearwire to put faster internet connections in their car. Not only will they able to communicate with the headquarters faster, but they can also make good use of the internet by getting information on potential suspects, among other things.

  15. Three Best Opportunities: • Schools and Colleges provide easier internet access for both the students and professors. • Business can use WiMax to get work done fast and more proficient. They will be able to use the internet during meetings and presentations. Workers will be able to work as they travel or work from home. • Recreational use of WiMax allows people to communicate

  16. Clearwire and its Competitors:  • -Clearwire Communications, LLC, offers advanced high-speed Internet services to consumers and businesses. As part of a multi-year network build-out plan, Clearwire’s 4G service, called CLEAR™, will be available in major metropolitan areas across the U.S. Strategic investors include Intel, Comcast, Sprint, Google, Time Warner Cable, and Bright House Networks. Clearwire currently provides 4G service, utilizing WiMAX technology, in four markets and provides pre-WiMAX communications services in 50 markets across the U.S. and Europe. The company is building the first, nationwide 4G mobile Internet wireless network, bringing together an unprecedented combination of speed and mobility.

  17. Clearwire and its Competitors:  • -UQ Communications Inc. is the only telecommunications company in Japan that offers nationwide high-speed mobile Internet services based on cutting-edge Mobile WiMAX technology.  • Yota is the first Russian Mobile WiMAX network providing high-speed Internet access and handover between base stations without session breaking. Yota 4G Internet is wireless, high-speed, unlimited and accessible everywhere within the coverage zone.

  18. Clearwire and its Competitors:  • Clearwire, UQ, and Yota currently offer WiMAX services in their respective domestic markets. Through mutual collaboration, the companies will provide theircustomers the first international WiMAX roaming capability and help 4G services to follow the same global pattern towards international accessibility as other wireless technology.  • Other companies such as At&T and Verizon are also working on expanding their company and working on WiMax. At&t is expanding WiMax and other fixed wireless technologies to build on the progress the company has made in four existing deployments in Alaska, Georgia, New Jersey and the Netherlands. • The competitors are better established and have significantly greater resources and may subsidize their competitve offerings with other products and services. But so far Clearwire is the leader in Wimax technology.

  19. Before Investing In Clearwire, I need to know: • How much profit the company expects to make each year • What new technology they will be coming out with that will keep them on top in their industry • Who is their competition and what do they have going on
