History • Initiation of partnership in 1995 • PDSC formation • Brentwood Middle School/High School partnership in 1995 • Brentwood Elementary partnership 2003 • Fontbonne classes at Brentwood • from one to seven • Faculty involvement • Fontbonne faculty teach courses on site • Brentwood faculty as adjuncts • Support for our partnership • Danforth Foundation grant to the PDSC

  3. Current Status of Partnership • Focus of program • Brentwood student achievement • Fontbonne student achievement • Partnership institutionalization • Long-term viability • Dependence on continued Brentwood and Fontbonne financial support

Brentwood Site Activities • Seven semester courses taught on site • EDU 200-201 tutoring program • Average of 15-18 tutors/semester provide 10 hours of tutoring for eighteen 6th grade students (360 hours/year) • Average of 21 tutors/semester provide 10 hours of tutoring for 42 elementary students (420 hours/year) • Average of 35 students provide 30 hours each of classroom support each semester (2100 hours/year) • Internship program • Student Teaching program

  5. Fontbonne Site Activities • Three Brentwood faculty teach Fontbonne courses • Two retired Brentwood faculty teach Fontbonne courses • A Master of Technology Education degree is taught by Brentwood and Fontbonne faculty at both sites

  6. Benefits to Brentwood • Pre-service teachers provide support for Brentwood students • Opportunities for Brentwood teachers to model “best practices” for pre-service teachers • Access to Fontbonne faculty as resources • Tuition vouchers and reduced rates for technology courses • MSIP accolades
