Rather it was hotter than a normal summer in Mumbai. You started late because somebody dropped by your home at the last minute. Hardly 5 minutes drive and the car AC failed. You opened windows. You could feel really hot air gushing by your face. Wet with sweat you continue driving just to get into traffic jams and not ordinary jam but a mother of all jams.”Why the hell these things happen to me only?”, you felt. Some people feel the Universe arranges trouble for you. Most people feel the Universe is indifferent. It has nothing to do with us. The fact is that the Universe works for YOU. We all learned that earth moves around the Sun. Wrong! The earth moves around YOU!! Universe helps you to reach your Goal faster. Have you seen a child asking for the Ice Cream.She really wants Ice Cream and the mother denies the ice cream.Mother gives fruit or bread with milk.The child hates fruit and bread and behaves cranky. After a few years,when the child grows, she realizes that the mother did the right thing.The child is thankful later on.The Universe does not give you what you want at a given time.The Universe gives you what you need. It was May1996.My daughter Sai passed the HSC Board Examination.She got about 6 % less Marks than her expectation. These 6% were very crucial for her admission to reputed engineering college.Sai was not ready to take admission in paid seats ( with higher fees) category in private colleges and we all were sure that she would not get admission
in Government Category ( with standard fees).Sai was upset as her dream of engineering graduation got shattered. We applied for reassessment as per given procedure. Admissions started before her reassessment.Maharashtra Rank list was displayed and she fell short of one mark to get admission in good Mumbai college. Anybody would get frustrated with this kind of bad luck. So did Sai. Sai took the admission for B.Sc. course. Reassessment results came after the first round of admission. She got one mark added, which was of no use now. This was really frustrating. Meanwhile, the admission process was halted because somebody had moved the court. Sai further lost all hopes and made up her mind for B.Sc. The result of litigation came out. They divided Maharashtra into 4 zones namely Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Aurangabad.70 % seats were reserved for ‘Home’ zone students and 30% seats were reserved for ‘Outside Zone’ students. All students were asked to resubmit their priorities. Still, we knew that Mumbai and Pune reputed colleges were beyond her range and gave priorities in Aurangabad Zone which was ‘Outside Zone’ for her. Sai got admission in SGGS Nanded Government College in Standard Fee category. She passed BE ( Electronics and Communication Engineering) with first class in 2000. She got her dream job in Infosys in Campus Selection in competition with IIT Graduates. The Universe does not give you what you want at a given time. The Universe gives you what you need.
