  2. Fmp • My Final Major Project is a music video for the band David Rumsey’s song Turquoise. • Tagline – what makes a good music video? • It will be around 3 to 5 minutes long in video format. • My video will show how a modern style of music video can suit a folk genre and convey a message of love and heartbreak. • The main conflict within the video will be the couple breaking up and how they leave each other and demonstrate their first actions after it happens. • I want my audience to emphasise with the video and feel entertained by it so that they can recommend it to other people.

  3. Target audience • I am making a music video for people of both genders aged 18 to 24. • In this blog post https://reillyrussellmedia.wordpress.com/2017/04/27/exisiting-media-product-research-music-videos/ I discuss research I have done about audiences with music videos and give demographics as to why my I am aiming my video at 18 to 24 year olds. • From all my research I can justify aiming the video at this age category since that is the way I will be able to make my video successful.

  4. Synopsis • My project is a music video that follows current narrative based music video trends in order to stay relevant to an audience. • The video will follow a couple, set at the beach, who break up and will replicate the lyrics in places. • The audience should expect to watch a mixture of a love story mixed with folk setting as from research they tend to be in naturistic locations.

  5. Treatment • The key question I am trying to answer is how can I make a successful music video. • The film will star 2 young students actors: Amy Ross (girlfriend) – what makes her good for this role is that she studies A Level drama therefore can act. Also, she is 17 and so the target audience will be able to relate to her due to her being a similar age. She will be a good contribution as she already has experience and will appeal to the audience. Joe Watson (boyfriend) – he will be good for the role as the boyfriend as he is a talented actor who has been apart of some productions already and also studies A Level drama and so he knows the industry. Together, Joe Watson and Amy Ross will have chemistry on camera as they are peers and have worked together on other roles before.

  6. Treatment • The music video will be filmed at Folkestone beach because there is multiple locations that I can use and replicates some of the lyrics to the song. • We will film shots of lots of different things, for example, the waves crashing at the beach, close ups of the actors faces, long shots walking down cobbled hills and medium shots of the characters arguing. • It will be shot with our college cameras and we will do some trial shots to see what looks good as well as remembering our experiences with past projects.

  7. treatment • It will be put together by myself and my peer Miah Harper-John as we will arrange to meet young actors and film them at our local beach. To pull the footage together we will edit separately using Adobe Premiere Pro so that we can create our own ideas at the post production stage. • I have watched a lot of music videos for research and so I have multiple influences including Ed Sheeran for his narrative based videos and Mumford and Sons for their folk genre music videos set in naturistic locations.
