  1. Date of Recognition: 4-2-2014 • Company: Miken Specialties • Workers Name (s): C. Wade, R. Caloca, H. Levario, C. Villareal, V. Chacon, J. Arredondo, D. Bustamante, R. Garcia, H. Bravo, M. Rodriguez, E. Avalos, and R. Woodard • Work Location: OC-5 • Description of Recognition: Miken scaffold builders set up to build the "dance floor" above the coils in R-2100. After delays in permitting and lighting problems, they were finally able to start the job. They were asked to install protective curtains inside the reactor to deflect any refractory that might fall off the walls for work below. The curtains had to be modified because they were too short. In spite of all the delays, they managed to install the curtains in a short period of time. They hung yo-yo's for the work below and then installed the deck. No one would have expected them to complete all these tasks in one shift, even if they had started on time. Working in the reactors is one of the toughest, most physically challenging, and dangerous jobs anyone will ever do. These folks accomplished this work safely and in record time. This reactor is critical path for our shutdown and their hard work helped us move forward. Roger Hood led our night crew and kept the roadblocks out of the way. • Recognized By: Leo Knopp
