  2. What is “MIB Compiler”? • Checks whether the MIBs written in SMIv1 or SMIv2 defined correctly • Usually allows a user to compile MIBs using a GUI • Some tools provide MIB editor as well • Example tools • MG-Soft MIB Compiler (www.mg-soft.com) • DMH MIB Compiler (www.dmhsoftware.com)

  3. What is “MIB Browser”? • Allows a user to browse MIBs using a GUI • Some browsers can function as an SNMP manager • send SNMP queries to SNMP agents • browse actual MIB in a system • Example tool • MG-Soft MIB Browser • Supported on Windows, NT • available from http://www.mg-soft.com/
