  1. Grosse Pointe Hockey Association 2001 Mite A Bulldogs 2008-09 Regular Season Information Sheet Objective We will teach your children the proper way to play the game and provide them with a fun, safe and competitive travel hockey experience. From an individual perspective, we will work on improving their skating, puck handling, passing and defensive skills. They will learn the importance of positional play, skating hard throughout the game, respecting teammates, coaches and opponents, and taking pride in their performance. Tryout DatesJuly 17, 2008 July 18, 2008 July 28, 2008 (Thursday) (Friday) (Monday) 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. All tryouts are held at Grosse Pointe Community Rink (GPCR). $15.00 per skater. Goalies are welcome (no charge). Schedule Although tryouts are scheduled for July, we will not begin practicing until late August. All practices and home games will take place at either GPCR or City Sports Center. The regular season schedule will include approximately six home games and six away games. We anticipate playing in two tournaments in addition to the regular season schedule. Selection At every level of travel sports, the selection process is a stressful endeavor for players, parents and coaches. The relative skill level of six- and seven-year-old players is frequently marginal, which makes selection of a team from a group of enthusiastic and hopeful skaters very challenging. On or before August 1, 2008, you will be contacted by a coach who will discuss personally the decision with respect to your child. StaffHead Coach: L.
