  2. Major Projects • CAIS Centralization (Completed) • Projects Module (Completed) • Costing Enhancements (Completed) • DOE CostWorks • CAIS-FIMS Interface • Web Migration • Web Site Upgrade

Completed Projects • Centralization • Converted all site databases • Costs are within 1.5% of non-centralized values • Established rules in the Headquarters firewall for all sites • Working now to assist sites in using the new database • Projects Module • Deployed in April 2004 • Made several enhancements to support TYSP development

  4. Completed Projects (continued) • Costing Update and Enhancements • Updated CAIS costs to RS Means 2004 costs in Summer ’04 • Added RS Means Assemblies book (and others) to the database for a total of 55,000 line item costs • Need to decide on a regular costing update schedule in light of TYSP requirements, baselines, etc.

  5. DOE CostWorks • DOE CostWorks version Beta 2B released • Major design, implementation, and testing tasks have been completed • On target for a December ’04 initial production release (version 1.0) • Need input on reports, Estimator navigation, minor enhancements • CAIS import feature available no later than January ‘05

  6. CAIS-FIMS Interface • Developed preliminary requirements at the March 2004 meeting • Designed and implemented a partial interface between centralized CAIS and FIMSWeb (includes DM, deficiency systems, and Last Inspection Date) • Need to add interface for common asset information • Need to re-visit requirements now that we better understand CostWorks

  7. Web Migration • Submitted budget request for Application Server hardware and software • Evaluating alternative J2EE environments • Design phase begins in November ’04 • Need lessons learned from FIMS web migration

  8. Web Site • New conceptual design prepared by Ken Baker • Proposed content updates • Will review at this meeting • Target time for updates is late November

  9. Other Events • Added the four DOE Naval Reactor sites to the CAIS community • Trained approximately 40 NR Facilities Managers in CAS/CAIS • Lost ORNL – Need to discuss RPAM, life cycle costing, competing methodologies, new Network Chairperson • Possible re-introduction of CAIS at NASA
