  3. The Food Industry is among the most competitive sectors in the Polish economy. The Food industry is one of the key sectors of the Polish national economy6% share in GDP , about 16% share in total employment of this sector. The food industry comprises small & medium size companies alongside large and multinational companies. The food industry operates in a dynamic environment with different needs, tastes and changing demands determine by the customers. General food

  6. Favourable agri-environmental conditions - organic farming as a fastest developing food sector. Appropriately rotated crops increase biological activity and soil fertility. Planting material used on an organic farm must be produced by organic methods (according to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development regulations). 9,5 thousand healthy food farms in 2007, next 13 thousand in registration procedures. Forecast on next 2-3 years - increase above 20 thousand. Healthy food investments planning were declared by inter alia such companies as: Danone, Nestle, Bakalland, Maspeks. PDŻ – ”Poznaj Dobrą Żywność” Try Fine Food quality mark. • The main goal of the Try Fine Food Programme, started on 1 May 2004, is to provide information about the high quality of food products. • Products which meet the criteria developed by the Scientific Council for Food Products Quality are awarded a ”PDŻ – Poznaj Dobrą Żywność” Try Fine Food quality mark. Labelling with this quality mark is to help the consumer choose products of high and consistent quality.
