  3. Why is goal setting important? According to Stiggins, Arter, Chappuis, and Chappuis. “…students knew where they were going, they knew where they were at any given time, and they learned what to do to close the gap.” Classroom Assessment for Student Learning page 41

  4. MAP MAP administered in August (Reading, Math, and Language Usage) Meet with teachers to discuss students’ scores Create list of students that qualify for Response To Intervention (RTI) / begin Tiers of Intervention

  5. First Grade Example Goal Setting Sheet

  6. MAP Parent conferences to determine next steps and review student’s individual goals and sign parent contract Folder of materials for parents and book bags for students Follow up with students (weekly) and parents (monthly or as needed)

  7. MAP MAP administered again in December (Reading, Math, and Language Usage) Goals reviewed and revised RTI list and Tiers of Intervention updated Parent Conferences
