  1. SUNTREK SOLAR COMPANY • Suntrek is a local firm located in lake Forest. • Suntrek is working closely with O.C.C. to develop their new PV program this fall. • Suntrek is also working with Laguna Hills High School to help develop their new class that starts in Sept.: “Energy and Environmental Technology”. They will provide guidance on PV installation and design.

  2. Solar Collectors • There are two type of solar collectors, one is for heating water for your home and the other one is for the pool. • The solar collector for your household is much hotter and the water is stored in your electric or gas water heater. • Pool heating is less expensive to install and very cost effective, two year payback.

  3. Solar Collector For Pool

  4. Solar Voltaic or PV • Residential PV is a group of modules that make a panel that makes an array. Normally a regular PV panel is rated for 175 watts before being derated by the inverter. • Ten panel array will produce 1750 watts at the entrance of the inverter. It loses about 10% to 20% in the conversion from DC to AC leaving 1575 to 1400 watts of AC power.

  8. RESALE ROI • Resale Value Comparisons • of Various Home Improvements • Home Improvement Investment Amount/ Resale Value % Return • Type Net System Cost Increase • 4.3-kilowatt Photovoltaic • System, California $23,000 $22,000 95% • 9.4-kilowatt Photovoltaic • System, California $48,000 $77,000 160% • Deck Addition $6,300 $6,700 104% • Bathroom Remodel $10,100 $9,100 89% • Window Replacement $9,600 $8,200 85% • Kitchen Remodel $44,000 $33,000 75%

  9. Am I A Candidate For PV? Monthly electrical bill is $90.00 I pay Edison 15.5 cents a kWh pt 580 KWh used Standard 4.3 kW system after rebate $23,000 $23,000 for system and $5,700 for IRA taxes $28,700/$1,080 (yearly @ $90 a month) = 26 yrs. Resale value $20,700 (90% of $23,000) Will my electric bill per kWh always be 15.5 cents? What about AC or an electric car for the future??

  10. Nice Roof For An Solar Array

  11. It Is All About the Numbers

  12. Great Location Wrong Tier • Here I have a great roof location “SW”, no penetration, like vent pipes, etc. Not even the neighbor’s trees are an issue. It is a super roof to use. • But, my home may not be the optimal PV site because of my low electrical use. If you are spending $200 to $1000 a month in electricity then PV could be a great benefit!

  13. PERFECT TIMING • PV PRODUCTION AND HIGHEST DEMAND MEET

  14. 2.3 Billion For Electric Cars!

  15. 1,000,000 Solar Roofs By 2018 • California Solar Initiative wants a million California homes with solar “PV”, which would provide California with 3000 megawatts of additional clean energy and make our state the leader in Solar. • Adding electric cars to the nations electrical demands; it only seems reasonable that each residential roof make a clean contribution.
