Understand better Injection (mismatch, #parameters, acceptances) • RF LL digital • voltage feedback : after cooling, when the gap is opened, the gap voltage is not zero…and the bunching is not controlled. Long. emittance is very small after ecool and some mV can make some structure onto the beam. This, in addition to the IBS, gives emittance blowup), • Sometime, no acceleration. • Nominal not done (is the N particle a limit at acceleration?) • Machine not fully understood (chromaticity, lattice deviations, tests of different tunes) • Cooling not fully tested and measured (lifetime and cooling rate depending on current, electrons distribution: systematic measurements) • Extraction:do we have losses and where?. PS energy matching? PS matching not understood. Still to be done(1)

  9. Full control of Linac3 ramping&debuncher cavities, bumper parameters. Many applications to write for improving operation (spectra analysis, BIPM measurements, ecool beam trajectory, tune meas,….) OASIS, LASER to improve (nothing else that the other users) Transfos acquisition for beam survey and vistar Add transfer lines in LSA?? Reduce water consumption Solve the transfospb for the RF HV Power supplies. Still to be done(2)

  10. Gun and collector of ecool(spares arrive end of 2007?)…no change for collector (varnished in 2006) unless a bake out is needed(see ATC 28.10.2007). No quad&bending spares (work at <0.4 their power capacity) HV VPI’s feedtrough? ?DAMOCLES?

  11. A lot of work to finish some systems and understand the machine. A debriefing of the 2007 run and a prospect for 2008 is foreseen soon. In case of full LEIR stop for >18monthes, what are the needed actions (safety, protections…)? NEXT YEAR? OUR POINT OF VIEW: WE SHOULD RUN LEIR TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE BEAM BEHAVIOUR
