Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.   4. Do Not be conformed Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words "to fashion or shape one thing like another," is translated "conformed" in Rom 12:2, AV; RV, "fashioned;" "fashioning" in 1Pe 1:14. This verb has more especial reference to that which is transitory, changeable, unstable;

If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

We must build on the solid foundation of his word Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

  10. Renewing our minds • By filling it with God’s word. • Colossians 3:9-10 • Philippians 4:8 • Changing our thinking, values and priorities. Mark 8:34-37 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

  11. Renewing our minds • By changing our behavior • Give up sinful habits – Hebrews 12:1 • Different companions – 1 Corinthians 15:33 • Laying aside “weights.” Hebrews 12:1

  12. Ask ourselves: • Are we different now than when we became a Christian? • Is Christ and His kingdom our number 1 priority?

  13. Be Saved today! • Have faith – Hebrews 11:6, John 3:16 • Confess Christ – Romans 10:10 • Repent of sin – Luke 13:3 • Be baptized – Mark 16:16 • Be Faithful – Revelation 2:10
