  2. The Cuban-American Association of Civil Engineers, Inc. Incorporated in March 6, 1961 as the Association of Cuban Civil Engineers in Exile, Inc.

  3. Our Purpose ™ • To Enhance and Support our Profession as Civil Engineers in addressing improvements to our Communities Infrastructure System and the Practice of our Profession. • To promote the practice of civil engineering and the enhance recognition of our profession.

  4. Our Purpose Continues ™ • The C-AACE is funded by membership dues, corporate sponsors, public events and private donations. Community involvement includes local government technical boards and committees, social services and charitable organizations etc. • Guest speakers at our monthly meetings present talks on technical, cultural or other topics of both national and local importance.

  5. Our Mission Statement To practice the Civil Engineering profession with the freedom and liberty that is attainable through the competitive process available by assisting others to recognize their potentials.

Our History ™ • Shortly after the takeover in 1959, the communist regime in Cuba began to proscribe all professional organizations. • Established in 1940, as the " Colegio de Ingenieros Civiles de Cuba" it was re-established in Miami, Florida in March of 1961 and found as Association of Cuban Civil Engineers in Exile, Inc.

  7. Our History Continues ™ • We proudly maintains a legacy of over forty eight years of service to this country and, in particular, to the South Florida community. • Our members practice our profession throughout the United States of America as well as throughout the World

Our History Continues ™ • The original goals were two-fold; • To unite and coordinate the efforts of their members in order to restore a democratic government in Cuba within the precepts of the 1940 Constitution of Cuba and to assist members in the arduous task of incorporating their valued professional skills into the newly adopted society.

  9. Our History Continues ™ • Today our association maintains over 350 members, the Article of Incorporation and By-laws no longer reflect any political purpose. • Membership requirements are inclusive and are not based on national origin, race, religion, or sex.
