  2. To do… • You will need to complete activity 47 and 48 over the next two days. Set these up as two separate activities. • Read the introductions for each lab • Read 47 (D-48) now and 48 (D-51) when you are ready to start You can use the classroom’s textbook or the online book. • Copy the challenge questions. • For both questions… explain why. • Replace “or” with “and” on the challenge question in activity 48 • Copy the following vocabulary for activity 48 (no vocab for activity 47): • Convergent: A boundary between tectonic plates that are moving are moving toward each other. • Divergent: A boundary between tectonic plates that are moving are moving away from each other (spreading center). • Transform: A boundary between tectonic plates that are sliding next to each (strike-slip center). • Glue in student sheets 47.1 and 48.1 • To find the website: • Google “sepup” and click on the first link • Click on “Middle School” • Click on “Courses: Issues in Earth Science” • Click on a) “Students”, b) “activity links”, c) “PLATE TECTONICS”, and d) “Sepup Plate Motion Simulation”
