  2. Japan Earthquake Friday March 11 2011 On Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:46:23 p.m. local time, an 8.9-magnitude earthquake struck Japan, the largest in recorded history. The resulting tsunami that swept the coast has resulted in countless deaths and widespread destruction, and aftershocks are still ongoing. The day after the earthquake, an explosion at Fukushima nuclear power plant caused both fear and confusion about what may happen next….

Students from ‘Club Japan’ and Year 11 students are asking for your help to raise money for TOHOKU EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUND • You can help by: • Buying our limited edition badge • Or sticker for yourself and your • family (students will collect during period 2 on Thursday) • Buying some sweets and munchies (Lunchtime in Jigsaw Hut next to the Art block) • Signing up for our Origami and Mamemaki workshops during PHSE time - period 1 Mon/Tue/Wed (ask your tutor)
