Purpose of Action Coalitions, CCNA • ACs are built to effect long-term sustainable change in moving the [IOM] recommendations into action • Comprised of diverse groups of stakeholders from a variety of sectors, the AC mission is to: • develop an issue strategy plan as basis for AC implementation efforts • ACs will further the overall initiative by • capturing best practices • determining research needs • tracking lessons learned • identifying replicable models

Advancing Education • Seamless academic pathways • common curriculum; common competencies • Employer incentives to hire BSN or support obtaining BSN • 83% of new nurses are in hospitals • Funding for pursuit of 2nd degree • Accelerated programs, e.g., BS-DNP/PhD options • Curriculum to promote IPE • Enhancing student and faculty diversity; ~10% male • Market-competitive packages for nursing faculty
