Overall advice • We recommend you spend a few hours getting organized and reviewing your previous work, including old tests, handouts, notes, annotated copies of novels – anything you think could be helpful and/or is specifically listed on the following slides. • But don’t forget your actual homework over the break: the Holiday History Project!

  3. History portion of exam Part I breakdown (40 multiple choice questions) : Political institutions and behavior and public policy 35% Social change 35% Diplomacy and international relations 15% Economic change 10% Cultural and intellectual developments 5% You will have 28 minutes to complete this section.

  4. English portion of exam Begin the preparation in the these general areas: 1. Recognizing the works we've read in full or in excerpted fashion. 2. Connecting these works to theirhistorical time periods. 3. Recognize key elements, such as authors, timelines, social effects, and the progression from the Romantic Era to the "Rise of Realism.” 4. You will have about an hour to complete this half of the exam.

  7. English portion of exam • 10 questions in the form of ACT-style grammar: multiple choice “identify the error” in sample sentences. • Grammar errors • Homophone errors • Pronoun usage errors
