  2. 1.) Fertile Crescent- An area of land that stretches in a large arc from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea 2.) Mesopotamia- The “Land between two rivers”. 3.) Tigris-Euphrates River Valley- Main source of water in Mesopotamian civilizations. 4.) City-State- A large civilization and its surrounding country side. 5.) Ziggurat- Pyramid Shaped temples.
