  3. What are Interactive Games? • Games in which you can communicate with other people • Communication can be on: • Message boards • Typed Chat IM • Voice Chat • Etc… Teenangels - New Rochelle Chapter 1

  5. Types of Interactive Games • Many tweens play interactive games • but the games that they play varied • Xbox Live • DS Wii • PSP • Halo • Club Penguin • World of Warcraft • Runescape • Webkinz • Disney’s Pirates Teenangels - New Rochelle Chapter 1

How often do kids play these games? • Majority – one to two hours a week (49.5%) several times a week (32.4%) • About 12.5% play over ten hours a week • About 17.0% play several times a day • 25.5% say the longest time playing in a single sitting is an hour of less • 28.3% (majority) say their longest time was five hours or more Teenangels - New Rochelle Chapter 1

Future Research • Survey more students from outside Westchester County, NY • Find out what other interactive games they play • Survey people above age 14 to see how the results vary among age groups • Research more ways for players to stay safe on these games.
