  4. Benefits of Effective Communication The benefits of effective communication • Effective communication reduces the incidence of misunderstanding and consequent errors, and enables employees to be more readily aligned to the vision and leadership of the organisation, and to work more efficiently. This in turn reduces the opportunity for disharmony, discontent or dissatisfaction, and supports a healthy working culture. • Effective communication enables managers to be more aware of the internal and external pressures on employees, and promotes the opportunity for flexible and efficient management – for example by enabling the provision of suitable interventions in the instance of sickness absence, care issues or bereavement that might benefit from temporary, flexible working arrangements.

  5. PRECISION AND CLARITY Precision – saying what you mean to say Clarity – Does the person understand what you have said? Feedback - Feedback has two purposes - to make sure the message you intended to send was received and to make sure the message you received was the one intended by the sender. A good supervisor will encourage feedback from employees and provide feedback to others.

  6. What is a communication strategy? • It articulates, explains and promotes a vision and a set of well-defined goals. • „It creates a consistent, unified “voice” that links diverse activities and goals in a way that appeals to your partners or stakeholders.

  7. Why have a communication strategy? • It ensures that the key messages of the strategy are correctly communicated. • It raises awareness and understanding. • The communication plan should have the objective of changing attitudes and behaviour among key groups on a day-to-day basis.
