  3. Asha for Education is a non-profit organisation dedicated to bring some change in the socio-economic situation of India. We believe that education is a critical element of socio-economic change. Mission Statement: To catalyse socio-economic change in India through education of underprivileged children What do we do? We raise funds around the world through cultural programmes and fundraisers to help support voluntary agencies in India that are directly involved in children's education. 100% of the contributions made to Asha directly go to education projects in India. We have no political or religious affiliations. Vision of Asha: Asha hopes to continue playing an important role in the socioeconomic development of India. Asha's vision is outlined below: • 2047: Universal Primary Education in India • 2010: At least one project in every district of India Asha-Zurich has been started by few a students and professionals from Zurich in 2002. The aim of the group is to mobilise the Indian and Swiss population to collectively support and provide financial assistance to grass-root level education projects in India.
