  4. Root Canals What is root canal treatment? The removal of the tooth’s tissue that is injured, diseased or infected. The tissue is replaced by a filling material. The crown of the tooth is then restored. Why is a root canal important? A root canal saves your tooth from being extracted. If left untreated, the infection can cause an abscess which can destroy bone surrounding the teeth and can cause severe pain. What does treatment involve? Treatment usually takes 1-2 visits. We will clean out the diseased tissue and canals; they will then be enlarged and sealed. The tooth may then need to be covered with a crown to prevent fracture. Before After

  5. Crowns What are crowns? Your natural crown is the part of your tooth visible above the gum. A replacement crown is a cover (much like a hat) placed over a weakened, fractured or decayed tooth. What is the purpose? Crowns are made out of porcelain fused to metal. They strengthen and protect your teeth for reasons such as replacing a large filling, restoring a fractured tooth, cover of a dental implant, covering a discolored tooth, and protecting a root canal-treated tooth from fracture.

  6. Bonding What is bonding? Bonding is when a tooth-colored material called composite is bonded to the tooth. Which teeth should be bonded? Composites can replace gaps between teeth, and fix cracked or chipped teeth. Bonding can also be used to cover exposed root surface to prevent decay and tooth sensitivity. How is it done? Bonding can be completed in one visit. The tooth is conditioned to make the composite adhere, a color is matched to your teeth, the material is then shaped and finally hardened by a special curing light. After Before

  7. Veneers What are Veneers? They are strong, thin shells of porcelain which are bonded to the front of the teeth. They instantly transform crooked, cracked, stained or poorly spaced teeth into a beautiful smile. How long will they last? Veneers will last for many years and are resistant to stain. Good oral hygiene and regular dental visits are needed to keep them healthy. How much time and money is involved? Veneers are economical and can usually be applied in two office visits. Before After

  8. Bridges What is a bridge? A bridge is an artificial replacement for a lost tooth. Bridges help you to smile and chew again. What is the importance? It is important to replace lost teeth to prevent healthy teeth from shifting out of position. Your teeth also help in speech, maintaining facial structures, and chewing. How is it done? Bridges may be secured to neighboring teeth, implants, or crowns. The procedure is usually completed in two visits.

  9. Implants What are they? A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed beneath the gumline. This post acts similarly to the root of your natural tooth. Crown, dentures or bridges are added to the post to replace the missing teeth. What are the benefits of implants? Implants give you a natural look and feel. They are very stable; they will not shift or affect eating or speech. They will allow you to eat and chew just as your natural teeth did. Can anyone get implants? Almost anyone is a candidate for implants. Proper oral hygiene and regular dental visits are critical for long term care. A consult and exam with our dentist is necessary to determine if implants will benefit you. Before After

  10. ZOOM ! Whitening What is Zoom Whitening? Zoom! is a bleaching process that lightens discoloration of enamel and dentin. Who may benefit from tooth whitening? Almost anyone. However, treatment may not be as effective for some as it is for others. We can determine if you are a viable candidate for this procedure through a thorough oral exam, including a shade assessment. Is whitening safe? Yes, extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is safe. In fact, many dentist consider whitening the safest cosmetic dental procedure available. As with any tooth whitening product Zoom! Is not recommended for children under 13 years of age and pregnant or lactating women.

  11. Invisalign Does Invisalign really work? Yes. In dental practices worldwide, Invisalign has been effective at straightening teeth. Nine out of ten patients are “very or extremely satisfied” with their Invisalign experience. How does Invisalign work? Invisalign uses 3-D computer imaging technology to map the complete treatment from start to finish. From this plan, a series of custom-made aligners unique to your treatment is produced. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and gradually moves your teeth, before being replaced by the next in the series until your beautiful smile is completed.

  12. Extractions Why might a patient need a tooth extracted (pulled)? Some teeth will have extensive decay or else would have broken or cracked in such an extreme manner that an extraction might be considered the best, or at least a reasonable, solution. Of course there will be a number of factors that will come into play with any specific situation. In some cases the obstacles that present themselves might be so formidable that a repair for the tooth is simply not possible. In other cases the cost of needed dental treatment or else a questionable long-term outlook for the success of the treatment may be the reason an extraction is chosen.

  13. Laser Dentistry What does Laser Dentistry mean? We offer the latest advancements in laser dentistry! Laser dentistry is more conservative than traditional drills, producing less discomfort and a more germ-free treatment of cavities. Laser treatment means that the sight and discomfort of the dental needle, along with the sounds and vibration of the drill, are usually eliminated. There is little or no sound associated with laser treatment, a pleasant treat for the dental patient who has experienced the whine of the dental drill. The dental laser silently and comfortably vaporizes decay, leaving healthy tooth structure, which can be restored using bonded restorations.

  14. Inlays and Onlays What are Inlays and Onlays? When more than a third of a tooth’s biting surface is damaged, a dentist will often use an Inlay or Onlay. Large fillings on back teeth often require a stronger and properly contoured restoration, such as porcelain Inlays or Onlays. They are created at a dental lab and are bonded into place using a strong resin. Inlays and Onlays protect teeth similarly as crowns, but conserve more natural tooth structure and are a better match to your tooth’s natural color.

  15. Dentures When are dentures necessary? Dentures are an economical way to replace all your missing teeth. Dentures can be anchored down with implants to give stability and greatly improve the fit. Mini Implants are a very inexpensive way to substantially improve the fit of your denture in one visit. Before After
