  11. Our new work on Electronic Performance Support • Performance Support, sometimes referred to as Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS), represents the missing link between training and true on the job performance. It is a system that provides targeted and organized information at the moment of need by embedding the solution directly into the employee’s applications or workflows. • An effective Performance Support solution also provides scaffolded levels of support by providing just the right amount of information at just the right time. The optimal Performance Support solution provides context-sensitive support and either a task-based, role-based, or process-based orientation so users quickly receive the most relevant information at their moment of need.
