  1. Le attrezzature di test di Galileo Avionica utilizzate per VIR-MS per Dawn (collaborazione ASI/JPL) Giampaolo Preti con il supporto del Team di Dawn

  2. Test Facilities • Integration: GA clean room 100 000 class • Dynamics: GA vibration facility • EMI/EMC: GA EMI/EMC lab • Thermal/Vac: GA TVC • Calibration: GA calibration benches Summary of test facilities to be used for VIR-MS for Dawn

  3. GA Test Facilities: Integration • About 300 m2 of clean areas (class 100 000) with laminar flow benches class 100 available for optical, electrical, mechanical AIV • Small clean room (50 m2) class 100 • Dedicated laboratory for contamination control & analysis • PFO (Particle Fall-Out) photometers to measure particle fall-out during the production process • Thermal vacuum chambers up to 1 m3 with thermal control from –70 to 100 °C, and equipped with liquid nitrogen • One of the clean rooms is equipped with 40 103 kg pneumatic suspension anti-seismic basement, for high precision measurements

  4. GA Test Facilities: Integration

  5. GA Test Facilities: Dynamics Vibration facility, with LDS 826 shaker and scientific Atlanta SD 1501 electronic controller for sine, random and shock tests in the range 5 to 200 Hz, up to 100 g for equipments up to 450 Kg weight

  6. GA Test Facilities: EMI/EMC

  7. GA Test Facilities: Thermal Vacuum T/V chamber Heraeus • 900 mm internal diameter, 800 mm internal axial length, provided with a  270 mm optical quartz window. • max vacuum < 10-6 mbar • two independent temperature controls for mounting plate (range –50°C to +100°C) and shroud (-70°C to +100°C, -196°C with liquid nitrogen) • Mass Spectrometer for residual gas analysis as additional features T/V chamber C.R.V. for cryogenic space simulations • Internal diameter: 900 mm, Internal axial length: 800 mm Front loading door, 900 mm diam., provided with an optical quarz window, 230 mm diameter • Pressure range: from ambient to 1x10-6 mbar • Temperature range : from ambient to 100 K by liquid nitrogen cooling • Mass Spectrometer for residual gas analysis
