  2. Growth and Income Fund A growth and income fund is a mutual fund structured to provide both growth in value and income payments. A growth and income fund usually chooses small-cap stocks for income, and bonds are also sometimes included. Managers of a growth and income fund will often choose companies that show both growth and income together in the same security. Mutual fund families that offer a growth and income fund include Fidelity, Vanguard and Janus.

  4. Growth and Income Fund This fund is designed to be a moderate risk fund. The investment strategy for this fund is to maintain an asset mix of approximately 60% in common stock and 40% in bonds. The fund consists of U.S. and international stocks, and Treasury and corporate bonds.
