Te Puna Libraries Forum • JSCI (Joint Standing Committee on Interloan) –LIANZA and National Library – responsible for adminstering Interloan scheme in NZ • Merged into TPSAC in 2009 • Te Puna Interloan handles most NZ interloans for NZ & Australia • LIANZA maintains Interloans web site – including Interloan handbook, transactions not processed

University of Auckland interloans • Went live with own VDX system in 2004 – linked to Te Puna ILL • Linked to LADD in 2005 (AU does not use the gateway to LA in TP ILL) • End-user requesting went live 2006/7 – all UoA staff and students can use it • Savings in library staff time, turnaround time, patrons can track their own requests

  3. What is changing for Auckland ? • Moving from a locally managed system to a hosted VDX system with OCLC in Dublin, Ohio • Upgrading VDX to version 4 as part of move and introducing new functionality including DocStore, Open URL links from our link resolver, and more • Managing complex system in house with only a few staff with specialist knowledge was not effective use of time or resources
