  1. WHAT IS BIG DATA AND ADVANTAGES OF BIGDATA • WHAT IS BIGDATA? • The meaning of big data can be understood from the name itself. Big data means a huge amount of data. Here, the huge amount means that data which is present in terabytes, petabytes, etc. Big data is being used everywhere in the market. At present, data science technology is the only technology which is being used in every sector. One of the most important parts of the data science technology is the data. However, we cannot use the same big data we get from the users. Different operations are needed to be performed on the big data for extracting useful information from it. • GENERATION OF BIGDATA • A question which comes to mind is, from where do we get this big data? The big data is generated from the users. The generation of big data can be explained with an example of social media platforms. It has been said that more than 500 terabytes of the data are generated through social media platforms. Here, the data is the videos, photos and stories that we upload on social media. Another example of the generation of big data is the stock market. It has been said that about one terabyte of data is generated in a single day. • TYPES OF BIGDATA • The big data do not contain a single variety of data. The data is generated in different forms. The different forms of data are known as the type of big data. They are listedbelow--> • Structureddata • Structured data is that data which can be processed and stored in a fixed format. For example, spreadsheets, etc. In technical language, structured data is that data which is present in the form of integer, string, float, double, etc. • Unstructureddata

  2. Unstructured data is that data which does not have a fixed format. The real-world examples of this data type of data are audios, videos, texts, etc. • Semi-Structureddata • Semi-structured data is the combination of both, structured as well as unstructureddata. • PROCESSING OF BIGDATA • As said above, we cannot use big data as it is. We have to perform some operations on it for squeezing out useful information from it. The big data cannot be processed by traditional methods, because the traditional methods are not able to process and store such a huge amount of the data. That’s why new frameworks are introduced in the market for processing the big data. One of those frameworks is Hadoop. • ADVANTAGES OF BIGDATA • Here are some advantages of big data. They are listedbelow--> • Big data reduces thecost. • Big data also improves the efficiency of theproduct. • Big data also increases sales if used inmarketing. • CHARACTERISTICS OF BIGDATA • Here are four characteristics of big data. They are listedbelow--> • Velocity • Variety • Veracity • Volume • CONCLUSION • As said above, the big data is being implemented in every sector. Apart from its advantages in the market, big data is also a bright career option. Students should get big data training. They can learn it from onlinecourses.
