  1. Dear Dive Masters, Welcome to Dive Cooperative in Cozumel. We are more than a dive shop. We are a training facility, a dive academy, a team of explorers. We are excited to show you this breath taking paradise underwater while training you to excel as Dive Masters and Instructors in the diving Industry. Please Note - Diving throughout your internship will be subject to space on the boats, however we will guarantee an incredible amount of dives through the 12 week period. • Flexibility is required with regards to the schedule planned and diving, we reserve the right to change and alter the general plan accordingly. • We would also appreciate and consider your input and ideas of projects that you may want to uptake during your internship period. • Panoramic photography & mapping project of the reefs during the internship maybe commercialized there after.   4. Week 2Water Skills & Stamina • Stamina and rescue skills are the foundation of a prosperous career in diving • Focus will be on emulating PADI required standards. • This will be applied in our scenario simulation sessions

  5. Week 320 Basic Skills • Divemasters will practice skills to a level of perfected mastery and will be expected to demonstrate skills at instructor level • Start of mapping project

  6. Week 4Theory • Backing up your skills with knowledge is essential. Client divers will always have questions for their Divemasters and instructors. How would you feel if you couldn’t answer them? How would the clients feel?

  7. Week 5Simulating Dives • DMs will guide simulated dives with other DMs role playing clients • The dive site for this portion of the internship is a shore dive • Stamina and precise navigation are essential for this type of dive

  8. Week 6Nitrox & Tech Diving • Nitrox Course: DMs will be given the full nitrox course (getting nitrox certified is optional and cost is separate) • DMs will get to experience diving with Nitrox first hand • A quick and brief overview of different branches of Tech diving and its principles

  10. Week 8Intro to IDC • This portion of the internship will prepare the DMs to what to expect in the Instructor development course. • Career advice and options within the diving industry in the Riviera Maya will also be discussed for those DMs interested

  11. Week 9Catch up week • This week will be dedicated to catching up on any past work • Fine tuning of skills and reinforcing stamina • Revision of theory • DMs may request further focus on any aspect of the internship
