  1. La Fortaleza de IBIZA La isla de Ibiza, por su situación estratégica en el Mediterráneo, ha sido a lo largo de la historia un importante enclave comercial y militar.Para su defensa, en 1554, el príncipe Felipe, futuro Felipe II, ordenó la construcción de esta nueva fortaleza.El proyecto original de Calvi fue revisado años más tarde por el ingeniero italiano Fratín y hasta el siglo XVIII permaneció sin cambios importantes.

  2. Esta construcción militar dirigida por los ingenieros españoles fue un ejemplo a seguir en posteriores fortalezas. De lejos, se parece al Castillo de San Felipe de Cartagena de Indias, donde Blas de Lezo llevó a cabo su gloriosa defensa contra la pérfida Albión. Observa en la siguiente fotografía la majestuosidad de tan bella fortaleza.
